Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Travel Africa Solo, a brand of Digital Dunia LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit travelafricasolo.com (the “Site”) or subscribe to our newsletter. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.
1. Who we are
Travel Africa Solo is operated by Digital Dunia LLC. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at [email protected].
2. What we collect
- Newsletter data. When you sign up for the free travel kit / newsletter, we collect your email address (and your name, if you provide it).
- Usage data. Basic technical information your browser sends automatically — IP address, device and browser type, referring page and pages viewed. Some of this appears in standard server logs.
- Cookies & similar technologies. Small files used to run the Site and, only with your consent, to measure usage and campaigns. See section 6.
We do not knowingly collect special-category data, and we do not sell your personal data.
3. How we use your data
- To send you the newsletter and the resources you requested, and to manage your subscription.
- To operate, secure and improve the Site.
- With your consent, to understand how the Site is used and how our campaigns perform.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (newsletter sign-up and non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (running and securing the Site), and legal obligation where required. You can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Newsletter & email
Our newsletter is powered by Ghost. When you subscribe, your email is processed to send you a confirmation link and, once confirmed, our emails. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
6. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies. Strictly necessary cookies (including the one that remembers your cookie choices) are always on. Analytics and marketing cookies load only if you opt in. You can review and change your choices at any time:
7. Sharing & processors
We share data only with service providers that help us run the Site, under appropriate agreements. These include:
- Ghost — newsletter and membership.
- Our hosting/CDN provider — serving the Site and security.
- Analytics provider (only with your consent) — aggregated usage statistics.
We may also disclose data where required by law.
8. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including the United States. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Data retention
We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Server logs and analytics data are kept for a limited period and then deleted or anonymised.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. EEA/UK residents may lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority.
California residents may request access to or deletion of personal information and may opt out of “sales”/“sharing” — we do not sell personal data. To exercise any right, email [email protected].
11. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
